Inspirations: Kirby (Specifically Moonlight Capital and Haltmann Works Co. HQ), Genesis-Era Sonic the Hedgehog, John “Joy” Tay  

The element of the jam was “Palindrome,” so I made the primary motif / melody have the same notes played forward and backward. I was partially inspired by the palindrome “Rats live on no evil star,” because of how strangely evocative the phrase is for how absurd it is.

The vibe I wanted to craft for this piece was a late-game stage of a 2d platformer set in a space station. I wanted it to feel intense, but in a way that wouldn’t feel out of place in an E10+ game.

In my mind, the track would loop in-game but have the ending that it does in this recording in the game’s soundtrack.
